We are glad to announce the creation of the Cyprus – South Africa Business Association and to welcome you as a founding member of this association.

The aims of the Association are:
  1. To promote, expand and encourage economic and trade relations between Cyprus and South Africa.
  2. To establish economic but also social interaction between Cypriot and South African businesspeople and professionals.
  3. To encourage “networking” for the promotion and stimulation of business relations and investments in the two countries.
  4. To organise meetings with officials of the two countries with a view to safeguarding the smooth operation and flow of trade between the two countries but also to propose ways for the further improvement of the business and economic relations.
  5. To create and maintain on a regular basis communication between the business communities and politicians of the two countries.
  6. To develop various ways for enhancing cooperation between South African and Cypriot businessmen.
  7. To present to the South African market the dynamic aspects of the Cyprus economy, with emphasis on the opportunities for International and South African companies to trade not only with Cyprus but also via Cyprus to the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe, the Balkan Countries and the European Union Countries.
  8. To help promote the activities of young entrepreneurs from the two countries.
  9. To encourage cooperation between universities, research centres and business of both countries, particularly in the area of innovation and new technology.
  10. To promote the prospects of investing in the South African market to the Cypriot business community, and provide assistance and information in order to facilitate such investments.
  11. To inform Cypriot and South African businesspeople of the availability of resources that will help them to locate products, services and business partners and advise them on how best to introduce and promote their companies in the markets of both countries but also the wider European Union and African market.
  12. To organise events for the implementation of the above in close cooperation with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Association functions under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is supported in its efforts to reinforce commercial and economic relationships between the two countries by the Ambassador of South Africa for Cyprus and the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry & Tourism.

Members to the Association can be Individuals and/or private law companies of Cypriot or other origin that are members of or have a significant contribution to the business community.

We attach the Memorandum of the Association to be approved in the Inaugural General Assembly of the Association which will take place on Wednesday 4 June 2014 at 3pm at the premises of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1 st floor) in Nicosia and to which you are kindly invited. The main objective of this meeting (apart from the approval of the attached Memorandum) is to introduce the founding members to each other and vote for the Board of Directors and President of the Association.
