The 1st AGM of the Cyprus-South Africa Business Association took place on the 21 May 2015 at the Centre for Visual Arts and Research with the kind participation of the South African High Commissioner to Cyprus Mr S.R. (Zeph) Makgetla who expressed his support in the effort of the Association which is the promotion of the bilateral economic activities between Cyprus and South Africa.

The president of the Association, Mrs Maria Zavrou, in her address expressed the position of the Association that  there is great potential in the business relationship between the two countries and in particular that South Africa can act as an intermediary to the untapped market of Africa.

Through its one year of life the association has managed to set the ground work for entering the South African market and is organizing a trade mission under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, CIPA and CIFA. The trade mission will take place at the end of  October 2015 where the Cypriot businesses will visit Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban.
